Ansonia, OH (February 18, 2024) – Two people suffered injuries in a car accident that took place in Ansonia on Saturday, February 17th. The crash took place just after 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Beamsville-Union City Road and Coletown-Lightsville Road.
According to a report from the scene, 40-year-old Etna De La Cruz, of Greenville, was traveling northbound in a Chevy Equinox on Coletown-Lightsville when she failed to stop at the intersection with Beamsville-Union City Road. As the Equinox entered the intersection it collided with a westbound Jeep Cherokee that was driven by 59-year-old Jack Baughn, of Ansonia. Both cars spun around before coming to rest in the northwest corner of the intersection. The Equinox rolled over on its driver side. De La Cruz suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Jack Baughn and a passenger, Tamara Baughn, were taken to Wayne HealthCare for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt as a result of the accident. At this time, there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. The crash remains under investigation.
