Auglaize Co, OH (Jan 18, 2025) – An injured two-car crash occurred late on January 17 in Auglaize County, leaving seven people, including a pregnant woman, injured. The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 196 and Fairmount Road, approximately one mile north of Waynesfield.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), a maroon Chevrolet Malibu traveling west on Fairmount Rd failed to stop at a posted stop sign and collided with a white Toyota 4Runner traveling north on SR 196. The crash resulted in injuries to five occupants of the 4Runner and two from the Malibu.

All seven victims, residents of the Lima area and ranging in age from their twenties to mid-thirties, were transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening. Troopers indicated that the driver of the 4Runner suffered the most serious injuries.

First responders from Wayne Twp Fire & EMS, Uniopolis, and Westminster assisted with vehicle extrication and traffic control. Deputies from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office also responded to manage the situation. The intersection remained closed for approximately two hours while crews worked to clear the area and investigate the incident.

OSP investigators confirmed that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
