Auglaize Co, OH (January 16, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred Thursday afternoon in Logan Township, Auglaize County, leaving two individuals injured. The crash, reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, took place around 3:08 p.m. at the intersection of National Rd (Rte 66) and SR 198 when 18-year-old Brooklyn Kennedy of Wapakoneta failed to yield at the stop sign and hit the side of a car driven by 40-year-old Amanda Thomas of Spencerville.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Thomas was traveling northwest on SR 198 when Kennedy’s car hit hers. The force of the collision caused Thomas to run off the road and hit a utility pole and utility box, causing her car to overturn.

Emergency crews from Cridersville EMS responded to the scene, where Thomas was transported to Lima Memorial Health System with suspected serious injuries. Her passenger, 29-year-old Nicholas Tarbet, was also evaluated by EMS but did not require immediate transport. Kennedy was evaluated for possible injuries and was cited for failure to yield.

Our deepest condolences to all those affected by this tragic incident. Our thoughts are with Amanda Thomas, Nicholas Tarbet, Brooklyn Kennedy, and their families as they cope with the aftermath of this devastating crash. We wish for a swift recovery for those injured and hope for peace and strength for all involved during this difficult time.
