Pedestrian Accidents in Ohio
An Ohio pedestrian accident can lead to serious, life-altering consequences for victims. Each year, approximately 3,000 pedestrian accidents are reported across our state. These incidents have a much higher injury rate than traffic accidents involving motor vehicles and other types of collisions that take place on our roadways. Pedestrians are extremely vulnerable victims and usually have little time to avoid the potential of a serious crash. Many Ohio pedestrian accidents take place in intersections and occur when a driver fails to yield the right of way to a pedestrian.
If you have been affected by an Ohio pedestrian accident, you could have certain legal rights. In the aftermath of a collision, the most important thing is to obtain medical care as soon as possible. Seeking medical assistance not only supports your claim for injuries but, more importantly, assures that you will be appropriately treated before your condition worsens. Many injuries in pedestrian accidents and other traffic collisions are not readily apparent at first. It may take days or even weeks before the pain truly starts to manifest itself. Obtaining early treatment can help to prevent these injuries from worsening.
