Fatal Traffic Accidents in Ohio
A traffic accident in Ohio can lead to serious, permanent and sometimes fatal injuries. Crashes involving commercial vehicles have a much greater likelihood of major injuries and even death than other types of accidents. A fully-loaded commercial vehicle can weigh up to 80,000 pounds while a large passenger vehicle is likely to weigh up to 5,000 pounds. The sheer force and size of a tractor-trailer or big rig presents a much greater danger when a crash happens.
A commercial vehicle accident case can be more complicated than an accident involving a car or a passenger vehicle. Commercial vehicle insurance policies have higher liability limits and truck accident insurance companies are sometimes reluctant to pay claims. When an offer of settlement is made, it is usually for less than the overall value of the claim. With the stakes being so high, it is always advisable to have the help of an experienced truck accident lawyer.
