Chillicothe, OH (December 16, 2024) – An injury two-car crash occurred early Monday morning in Scioto Township, Ross County, resulting in serious injuries to two individuals. The incident, reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), took place at approximately 4:34 a.m. on Eastern Ave near the intersection with U.S. Route 35.
According to the OSHP, a 2003 Honda Element driven by 23-year-old Harley Maynard of Chillicothe was traveling northwest on Eastern Ave when it crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by 36-year-old Adam Clark, also from Chillicothe. The Chevrolet was heading southeast when the crash occurred.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the crash. Maynard was transported by Scioto Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment. Clark was taken to Grant Medical Center by Huntington Township EMS. Emergency response teams from multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Ross County Sheriff’s Department, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, Huntington Township Fire and EMS, Veteran Affairs Fire and EMS, and Chillicothe Fire and EMS.
The authorities worked to manage traffic and ensure the safety of the public while fire crews were involved in the extraction of the vehicles. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision, and authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals involved. Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to come forward.
