Columbus, OH (November 15, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred late Friday night on the east side of Columbus. The collision, involving two cars, took place around 10:30 p.m. on the ramp from Alum Creek Dr to eastbound Interstate 70, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
The investigation revealed that a red Chrysler, driven by a male operator with one adult passenger in the front seat and three juveniles in the back, was traveling on the entrance ramp from Alum Creek Dr to I-70 eastbound. Simultaneously, the driver of a blue Honda was traveling on the exit ramp from I-70 eastbound to Alum Creek Dr. For reasons that remain under investigation, the Honda veered off the road, crossed the grassy median between the ramps, and collided head-on with the Chrysler.
Emergency responders, including units from the Columbus Fire Department, arrived quickly at the scene. The fire department utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the occupants from both vehicles. Ambulances then transported all six individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment. The driver of the Honda sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local trauma center, while the other five, including the Chrysler driver, his passenger, and the three juveniles, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals involved in this tragic crash, as well as their families.
