Columbus, OH (January 27, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred on Monday, January 27, at the intersection of Marconi Boulevard and W Broad Street, causing significant disruption in downtown Columbus. The incident, reported by the Columbus Police Department, took place around 2:10 p.m. when two cars collided at the busy intersection.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the crash involved a sedan and an SUV. Initial reports indicate that the sedan, driven by a 35-year-old male, failed to yield at the intersection and collided with the SUV, which was traveling westbound on W Broad St. The impact caused both vehicles to come to a halt in the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic.

Emergency responders, including ambulances, arrived at the scene shortly after the collision. The driver of the sedan was found with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the nearest hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, the passenger in the sedan, a 29-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the injuries sustained. The driver of the SUV, a 40-year-old female, was treated for minor injuries and released.

The Columbus Fire Department was also on-site to assist in the extraction of both vehicles, which had to be carefully removed from the intersection. The authorities worked quickly to redirect traffic, but significant delays were reported as the crash site was cleared.

We wish those hurt in this wreck a full and rapid recovery.
