Darke Co, OH (December 27, 2024) – An injury three-car crash occurred on Friday afternoon near Greenville, involving several children and leaving one driver with injuries. The incident, reported by Darke County Sheriff’s deputies, took place just after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of US-127 and Children’s Home Bradford Rd.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 2016 Dodge Charger was stopped at a posted stop sign heading eastbound on Children’s Home Bradford Rd, while a 2011 Dodge Charger was stopped at the stop sign on the other side of the intersection, heading westbound. The driver of the 2016 Charger attempted to cross US-127 when the vehicle collided with a northbound 2012 Honda Odyssey. The force of the crash caused the Odyssey to strike the 2011 Charger.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash. The driver of the Odyssey, a 32-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital along with two juvenile passengers, ages 10 and 13, who suffered injuries. The 21-year-old male driver of the 2016 Charger was treated and released at the scene. The driver of the 2011 Charger, a 14-year-old passenger, and a 14-year-old were also treated at the scene and released.
Firefighters assisted in extracting the cars, and sheriff’s deputies managed the traffic flow during the investigation. The 21-year-old driver of the 2016 Charger was cited for failure to yield.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragic incident.
