Dayton, OH (February 9, 2024) – The Dayton Police Department responded to the scene of a car accident with injuries on Thursday, February 8th. The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and East Fifth Street.

According to a report from police, a Dayton resident was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry northbound on Wayne Avenue. As the driver proceeded northbound, he arrived at the intersection with East Fifth Street and attempted to make a left turn onto Wayne Avenue. The driver failed to yield to an oncoming 2012 Toyota Corolla. The Corolla and Camry collided with one another at the intersection. The driver of the Corolla, identified as Michael Redd, of Dayton, suffered injuries in the crash. Redd was treated by paramedics at the scene. There is no update on his condition at this time. After an investigation, police charged the driver of the Camry with failing to yield the right of way while making a left turn. The road was partially blocked while officials investigated the accident. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel if possible. No further details have been released at this time.
