Dayton, OH (January 31, 2024) – The Dayton Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a car accident with injuries on Tuesday, January 30th. The collision took place around 8:50 a.m. on East Fairview Avenue near the intersection with Riverside Drive.
According to police, Bryce James Swafford, of Dayton, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet HHR on on East Fairview Avenue. Swafford reduced his speed and tried to make a left turn onto Riverside when he collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Kenneth Larry Alexander, of Dayton. Alexander was hurt in the crash and received non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene. There is no word on the severity of his injuries or his condition at this time. After an investigation, police charged Swafford with failing to yield the right of way to Alexander.
The road was partially closed as police investigated the collision. Drivers were told to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel. No further information has been released at this time.
