Dayton, OH (February 8, 2024) – Police in Dayton responded to the scene of a two-car injury accident on Wednesday, February 7th. The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on South Smithville Road.
According to an initial report from the scene, officers were dispatched to the area just after the accident occurred. Police say that Dayton resident Tori Beck was driving a 2018 Ram truck on South Smithville. Beck was traveling directly behind a 2016 white Kia Sorrento driven by Amanda McKenney, also of Dayton. McKenney slowed her vehicle and Beck failed to reduce her speed, resulting in a rear-end collision between the two vehicles. McKenney was hurt in the crash and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital. There is no update on her condition at this time. Beck was not injured as a result of the accident.
The road was partially blocked as police investigated the accident and cleared the scene. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed in connection with the accident. No further information has been released.
We want to offer our thoughts and well wishes to Amanda McKenney in the aftermath of this car accident in Dayton. We hope for a full recovery.
