Dayton, OH (March 14, 2024) – Police in the Dayton area responded to the scene of a two-car accident with injuries on Wednesday, March 13th. The accident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Embury Park Road at the intersection with Ridge Avenue.
According to the Dayton Police Department, Lydia Nyirarukundo, of Dayton, was driving a red Ford Focus westbound on Embury Park when she came to a stop sign at the intersection with Ridge Avenue. Nyirarukundo failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming 2018 Buick Encore, driven by Cade McDonald of Vandalia. The Focus and the Buick Encore collided with one another at the intersection. McDonald suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. There is no further word on his condition at this time. Following an investigation, police charged Nyirarukundo with failure to yield the right of way. An investigation remains ongoing at this time. There is no further information available.
