Car Accidents in Ohio
Injury accidents take place multiple times across Ohio every day. Being the victim of one of these crashes means that your life can be drastically affected in many ways. The accident can lead to serious physical suffering. Additionally, victims can suffer both emotional and financial harm as well. The aftermath of an accident can lead to an inability to work and perform activities you once enjoyed.
The large majority of car accidents in Ohio and across the country are caused by careless drivers. These motorists choose to violate the traffic rules and laws and, in the process, cause accidents that affect innocent victims. A car accident may be caused by any number of factors, including:
- Speeding
- Operating a vehicle under the influence or OVI
- Texting while driving and other forms of distraction
- Failure to yield the right of way or stop at traffic signals
- Drowsiness
- Equipment and vehicle failure
The causes of accidents include these factors and others. Following the crash, police will conduct a careful investigation into the accident and its circumstances. The goal is to determine which driver should be held legally responsible for the crash. Following the investigation, officers may issue charges against one of the drivers involved if they believe that a traffic law was broken, leading to the crash.
