We hope Marcus Dewayne Collins makes a full recovery.

Car Accidents in Ohio

Dayton, OH – Two-Vehicle Crash at Wayne Ave & Johnson St Leaves One InjuredOhio sees thousands of vehicle accidents each year, many of which result in injuries. Intersections are particularly common locations for crashes, often due to drivers failing to yield, misjudging traffic, or proceeding without ensuring the roadway is clear. These types of accidents can cause significant harm, especially when vehicles collide at an angle.

Understanding how crashes occur can help drivers stay aware on the road. Some common causes of intersection accidents include:

  • Failure to Yield Right of Way – Many intersection crashes occur because one driver does not properly yield. This can happen when making left turns, merging, or entering traffic from a stop sign. Even a moment of miscalculation can lead to a serious accident.
  • Distracted Driving – Looking at a phone, adjusting the radio, or focusing on something other than the road can result in missing a stop sign or running a red light, leading to dangerous collisions.
  • Speeding Through Intersections – Higher speeds reduce reaction times, making it difficult to stop in time if another vehicle unexpectedly enters the roadway. Even when the light turns green, drivers should proceed with caution.
  • Obstructed Visibility – Sometimes, buildings, trees, or parked cars can block a driver’s view at an intersection. In these cases, extra caution is needed to ensure cross-traffic is clear before proceeding.
