Dayton, OH (February 2, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 50 left one woman injured on Friday night.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. on January 31. Reports indicate that a silver 2006 Dodge Magnum was traveling northbound in the far-left lane when the driver attempted to change lanes to avoid a disabled vehicle. As the Dodge shifted lanes, it collided with a red 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the pickup reportedly locked up his brakes in an attempt to avoid the collision but was unable to do so.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported 41-year-old Wendy McIntosh to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her current condition has not been released. Authorities temporarily closed a section of I-75 while clearing the wreckage and investigating the crash. No citations have been issued, and the incident remains under investigation.
We hope all the wounded individuals make a full recovery.
Interstate Accidents in Ohio
Interstate 75 is one of Ohio’s major highways, carrying thousands of drivers daily. Due to high speeds and traffic congestion, rear-end collisions are common, especially when drivers are forced to make sudden lane changes. These crashes can lead to significant injuries and vehicle damage.
Victims of highway crashes often experience:
- Neck and Whiplash Injuries – Sudden impacts can cause soft tissue damage, leading to long-term pain and mobility issues.
- Head and Brain Injuries – Concussions or more severe traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can result from the force of a rear-end collision.
- Spinal Cord Damage – The impact from a crash can put immense strain on the spine, leading to chronic pain or, in severe cases, paralysis.
- Broken Bones – The force of a high-speed crash can lead to fractures that may require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation.
- Internal Injuries – Blunt force trauma can cause internal bleeding or organ damage, which may not be immediately visible but can be life-threatening without prompt medical attention.
Seeking medical attention immediately after an accident is critical, even if injuries seem minor at first. Some conditions may not show symptoms right away but can worsen over time.
