Franklin Co, OH (December 13, 2024) – An injury two-car crash occurred Thursday evening on the city’s West Side, injuring a civilian employee of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and at least one other person. The collision, reported by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, took place around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Sullivant Ave and Holly Hill Dr in the Hilltop area.

According to Franklin County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jim Gilbert, the off-duty employee was driving his car when the crash occurred. The other driver, who was traveling in the opposite direction, reportedly ran a red light and collided with the sheriff’s employee’s car, causing it to flip over.

The Franklin Division of Fire responded to the scene and assisted with car extrication, ensuring that all individuals were safely removed from the wreckage. Both the civilian employee and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. At this time, it is unclear if a third person, a passenger in the other driver’s car, was injured.

Authorities were able to manage the traffic situation and ensure that the intersection was temporarily closed while emergency personnel worked at the scene. The crash is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed as of yet.

We hope for a swift recovery for the injured parties during this difficult time.
