Huber Heights, OH (February 12, 2024) – Officials in Huber Heights responded to the scene a car accident with injuries on Monday morning, February 12th. The accident occurred just before 3:00 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Old Troy Pike.
According to police, the initial incident involved a single-vehicle accident in the median of the roadway. A bystander driving a work truck saw the crash and stopped to help the victim. As the bystander was providing assistance, an SUV traveling on I-70 tried to pass another car. However, as the SUV driver tried to pass, the vehicle struck both the bystander and his work truck. The bystander suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. His name has not been released at this time.
There were no additional injuries reported as a result of the crash. The road was shut down while officials investigated. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel. The Huber Heights Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating. No further details are available.
