Jackson County, OH (August 8, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred on Thursday afternoon on US RTE 35 near the rest area in Jackson County. The collision involved a westbound Chevrolet Express van and a westbound Dodge Durango. The incident resulted in one person being transported to the hospital with minor injuries. 

According to local authorities, the crash happened when the driver of the Dodge Durango failed to yield while changing lanes, leading to a collision with the Chevrolet Express van. Both vehicles crossed the median and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of US RTE 35. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet Express van was transported to Holzer Medical Center with minor injuries, while the driver of the Dodge Durango sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The other occupants of the Durango were unharmed. Jackson County firefighters and emergency crews were on site to assist with the extraction of the vehicles and to manage the scene. US RTE 35 was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour as crews worked to clear the debris and ensure the safety of the area.
