Jackson Twp, OH (November 8, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred on Friday evening leaving one person injured and prompting a swift response from emergency personnel. The incident took place just after 8:00 p.m. on Mahoning Ave near Lipkey Rd in Jackson Township. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to initial reports, a white SUV was struck on its passenger side by another car traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused moderate damage to the side of the SUV, while the second car, a sedan, sustained damage to its front bumper. The severity of the damage to both vehicles indicated a significant collision.
Emergency responders, including paramedics from the local fire department, quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters worked to safely extricate the individuals from the wreckage, while paramedics treated the injured driver at the scene. The injured person was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Authorities have not yet released details on the extent of the injuries, but they are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident. As crews worked to clear the wreckage, Mahoning Ave was temporarily reduced to one lane, causing brief traffic delays in the area. The scene was cleared, and the road was fully reopened around 9:30 p.m.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by this crash, especially with the injured individual.
