Jackson Twp., OH (December 30, 2024) – A tragic car crash occurred in Jackson Township on Sunday afternoon, resulting in serious injuries to one driver and the death of a 34-year-old woman. The incident, confirmed by the Jackson Township Police Department (JTPD), took place around 1:05 p.m. on Portage St NW, near the 5400 block.
According to JTPD, 34-year-old Angel Burlingame was driving a 2018 Kia Rio westbound on Portage St NW when she veered left of the centerline and collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram heading eastbound. The impact of the crash caused significant damage to both vehicles. The 47-year-old male driver of the Ram sustained serious injuries and was quickly transported by emergency medical services to a local hospital for treatment.
Burlingame was extricated from her vehicle by the Jackson Township Fire Department and was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have stated that drugs and/or alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
