Lake Co, OH (August 16, 2024) – An injury car crash on SR2 resulted in five individuals being injured on Wednesday evening. The collision occurred around 11:15 p.m. westbound on SR2 near the Lost Nation Road overpass.
According to the Willoughby Police Department, a 25-year-old man driving a Honda Civic collided with a Chevy Malibu. The impact caused the Chevy to be pushed into the center median while the Honda overturned. Both vehicles were significantly damaged in the crash. Emergency services, including local fire departments, were dispatched to the scene to manage traffic and assist with the extraction of the injured from the wreckage. The driver of the Honda Civic, as well as four occupants in the Chevy Malibu, were transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities reported that the injuries sustained were non-life-threatening.
The Willoughby Police Department confirmed that the driver of the Honda Civic was speeding at the time of the collision. An investigation into the crash is ongoing, but no charges have been filed as of yet.
