Lima, OH (January 10, 2025) – A serious injury car crash occurred on Thursday, January 9, in Lima, involving two cars and leaving one person injured. The incident, reported by the Lima Police Department, took place at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Bellefontaine Avenue.
According to the Lima Police Department, 72-year-old Harold Longmeier of Lima was traveling westbound on Bellefontaine Ave when he slowed down to make a right turn into the Clark gas station. Kameron Wills, 18, also of Lima, was traveling behind him and, for reasons still under inquiry, which include the potential influence of weather conditions, collided with Longmeier’s car.
Emergency responders from Lima EMS arrived at the scene and transported Longmeier to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Wills, who was uninjured, was reportedly cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
Firefighters assisted with the vehicle extraction, and traffic was diverted from the area while authorities worked to clear the wreckage. The crash resulted in significant disruption to traffic flow as crews managed the aftermath and ensured the safety of all involved.
