Pedestrian Accidents in Ohio
Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable crash victims on our roadways. Most pedestrian accidents occur in heavily-traveled areas and frequently at night or in the early morning areas when visibility is low. Pedestrian crashes can also take place in poor weather. As crash victims, pedestrians are especially vulnerable to the force and impact of an accident. As a result, pedestrians are likely to suffer serious injuries and even death as the result of a crash.
When a pedestrian accident occurs, it must be closely investigated by authorities in order to determine the cause and who should be held responsible. In many cases, the crash will be caused by a careless and negligent driver. In these instances, the pedestrian may have legal rights arising from the accident. In cases of a fatal crash, the pedestrian’s family members or next of kin will be entitled to bring a wrongful death claim on their behalf.
