Monroe Twp, OH (December 13, 2024) – An injury semi-truck crash occurred on Friday afternoon in Monroe Township, leaving a woman and a 7-month-old hospitalized. The incident, reported by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 (US 6) and State Route 109 (SR 109).

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, a 33-year-old woman from Lima was attempting to make a left turn onto SR 109 when her car collided with an eastbound semi-truck traveling along US 6. The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, and emergency crews quickly responded to the scene.

Firefighters from the Monroe Township Fire Department assisted in extricating the vehicles, while paramedics provided on-site medical care. Due to the severity of their injuries, both the 33-year-old woman and her 7-month-old passenger were airlifted via Life Flight to an area hospital. Their current conditions remain unknown. The semi-truck driver was reported to be uninjured in the incident.

Law enforcement officers from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office worked to control traffic in the area and secure the crash site. The intersection of US 6 and SR 109 was temporarily closed while the investigation took place and the scene was cleared. Authorities have confirmed that the crash is still under investigation.
