New Weston, OH (June 12, 2024) – Police in New Weston were called to the scene of an injury crash on Tuesday, June 11. The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 127 and State Route 705.
According to a Darke County Sheriff’s Office report, a Peterbilt 579 trailer was traveling westbound on U.S. 127 when it collided with a southbound Dodge Challenger at the intersection with State Route 705. The Dodge caught fire following the crash. The driver of the Challenger was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated. The victim was then transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No further information is available at this time. However, an investigation is underway, and local officials are conducting it.
