Injury Accidents in Ohio
If you have been the victim of a car accident in Ohio, you likely have many questions about your situation. During this time, it is normal to wonder if you will ever recover and be able to return to the life you once enjoyed. The injuries from a car accident can linger for weeks, months, and sometimes years following the accident. In order to make a recovery, it is important to have a full understanding of your legal rights.
Ohio’s traffic accident laws allow victims to obtain compensation for several different types of damages, including:
- Lost wages
- Mental and physical suffering
- Medical and prescription bills
- Loss of earning capacity
- Punitive damages in some cases
The amount of compensation to which you are entitled depends upon many factors. Too often, injured individuals make the mistake of speaking with the other driver’s insurance company prior to talking to an attorney. This can result in several key mistakes, including accepting an offer to settle your case for far less than what it is worth.
