Stark County, OH (December 31, 2024) – An injury pedestrian crash occurred on New Year’s Eve in Osnaburg Township when a juvenile male riding a skateboard was hit on US Route 30. The incident happened at approximately 6:15 p.m. near milepost 22, according to the Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Investigators report that a 39-year-old Louisville woman was driving a white 2019 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on U.S. 30 when she collided with the juvenile. The impact caused the juvenile to fall, and he was transported to Aultman Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the Equinox was not injured.

Emergency responders from Osnaburg Township Fire, Sandy Creek Joint Fire District EMS, and Patriot’s Towing assisted at the scene. Authorities promptly managed both the traffic situation and the crash site, with fire crews collaborating with EMS to ensure the safe transportation of the juvenile.

Authorities have confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, which is still under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Our condolences go out to all those affected by this unfortunate incident.
