Fatal Car Accidents in Ohio
Fatal crashes in Ohio claim the lives of approximately 1,100 people each year. Sadly, many of these victims are innocent motorists who are affected by the actions of a negligent driver. A serious crash can occur at any time and can permanently alter the lives of victims and their family members. When an accident takes place it must be carefully investigated by authorities in order to determine the cause and who should be held responsible. Police will conduct a full investigation into the crash and can issue charges against a negligent driver who caused the collision.
If you have lost a loved one in a fatal Ohio car accident, you may be entitled to compensation. While there is nothing that can truly compensate for the loss of a family member, many victims choose to seek justice on behalf of their loved one. Under Ohio law, a wrongful death claim can be filed by the deceased’s next of kin in order to recover certain types of damages. These cases are complex, however, and should only be handled by an experienced lawyer.
