West Chester Township, OH (April 10, 2024) – Three people were taken to a hospital following a crash in West Chester Township on Wednesday, April 10th. The accident took place just after 11:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75.
According to a police report, 21-year-old Nariya Crayton was operating a U.S. Army Humvee. At the same time, 46-year-old Jay Shope was driving a Freightliner tractor-trailer, and 64-year-old Michael Wright was operating a Peterbilt tractor-trailer. All of the vehicles were southbound on Interstate 75. The Humvee was traveling in the exit lane when Crayton tried to maneuver back into the middle lane. The Humvee struck the side of the Freightliner before moving back into the exit lane and colliding with the Peterbilt. The Humvee then traveled off the road and overturned. A 41-year-old male passenger in the Humvee was seriously hurt and was taken to the University of Cincinnati medical center for treatment. Crayton and another passenger were treated at UC Hospital for minor injuries. No one in the Freightliner or the Peterbilt suffered injuries in the accident. The crash remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
