Williams County, OH (August 7, 2024) – A tragic accident on Wednesday afternoon in Williams County resulted in one fatality and serious injuries. The collision, reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, occurred around 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of US Route 6 and State Route 66 in Springfield Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Timothy Crowley Jr., 29, of Toledo, was driving a Ford Transit Van northbound on State Route 66 when his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on US Route 6. The impact caused the van to overturn and crash into a fence before coming to a halt on its side. Crowley, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Shayn Gonzalez, 29, also from Toledo, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious injuries. Gonzalez was airlifted to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed. The intersection of US Route 6 and State Route 66 was closed for about six hours following the accident.
