Wood Co, OH (November 13, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred on Wednesday, November 13, in Wood County, leaving one person with non-life-threatening injuries and another dead. The incident, reported by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, took place around 6:00 a.m. on South Dixie Highway, just north of Cygnet Road, near Weston.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, a 23-year-old driver from Fostoria was traveling northbound on South Dixie Hwy when 58-year-old Kurt Mazey, driving south, veered left of center and struck his car head-on. The impact caused significant damage to both cars.
The injured driver, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was promptly transported to a nearby hospital by emergency responders for medical treatment. Unfortunately, Kurt Mazey was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the crash.
